A word which in some instances is thrown around without the knowledge of its true significant meaning. It’s so easy for visions to be blurred because of others perceptions especially on this day.  Valentine’s Day is a day that many set aside to show their significant other how much they appreciate, admire and cherish them. This was once a day where children secretly slipped a “Will You Be Mine Valentine” in their crush’s decorated brown sandwich bag.

For many reasons this day may not be exciting for everyone however something that I reflect on is that no matter what, the greatest love of all is the love of our Father. John 15:13 says that There is no greater love than to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. God loves and adores you so incredibly much that He sent His Son to die the most horrible death that none of us could possibly fathom. That is an extraordinary example of love in its purest form.

So on today, whether you’re a newly wed, single or you’ve been married for over 20 years, remember to not get so caught up in the marketing of chocolates, roses and gift cards, that you forget the true meaning of love through the Son Jesus Christ.

Unshakable Faith

Lately I’ve made a decision to be more transparent in blogging and sharing with my readers. To open myself up in a way that I haven’t before, so I pray that through this significant change more people will be encouraged and inspired on their journey to greatness. There have been quite a few things on my heart; however something that has been piercing to my soul is having an unshakable faith as you go through this rather remarkable thing called life.

It can be quite challenging to stay in faith when you are constantly faced with different obstacles to overcome. However instead of seeing these situations as something that will break you, recognize them for what they are, life occurrences that will help build your character and make you stronger than you were before. This mindset comes with knowing that no matter the circumstance, our Father is working everything out for our good. It comes from seeking a deeper intimacy with the Giver of life Who is so in love with you and has nothing but your best interest at heart. In saying that, we know that His will may be very different than what we desire and that’s alright. As a matter of fact, it’s awesome because what you have your heart set on, God will deliver in another way that is strategically put together just for you.

Another thing that goes hand-in-hand with God’s will is His perfect timing. He is never early, never late but always on time. It’s possible that whatever it is that you’ve been in prayer about, God is saying not yet. So many times we are always in a rush to get to the finish line but life isn’t a sprint. Life isn’t about who can get to the finish line first, it’s about who can sustain through the race until the end. God may be taking you through a pruning process all the while perfecting that very thing which you’ve been in prayer about and that can only happen in His timing. Prayer, meditation, quiet time and the like are your lifeline to the Creator. That’s why it’s so imperative in your walk to spend time daily with our Father so that you are tapped into His flow. We so often want God to be on our time table and then wonder where all the frustration and stagnation is coming from in our lives. It’s because we aren’t in alignment with His will. When we are in alignment with God’s perfect will, our desires and His desires are a mirror image of one another.

I encourage you to keep believing, keep pressing forward boldly knowing that you are never a forgotten memory when it comes to the Father. You are His heartbeat, He loves you, He adores you and your best days are not behind you but before you!
